I’m thrilled to share the incredible journey I’ve recently returned from—one that has been both heartwarming and inspiring. This trip to Tanzania and Uganda reaffirmed the power of collaboration and the impact we can achieve together.
Empowering Girls in Arusha
My visit to Arusha allowed me to connect with the passionate leaders of Empowered Girls, a program working tirelessly to uplift young women. Witnessing their dedication and sharing ideas to strengthen their mission was a beautiful reminder of the collective effort needed to create lasting change.
Keynote with CAPAIDS in Uganda
In Uganda, I had the honor of serving as a keynote speaker at CAPAIDS for the Home of Hope 4th Graduation ceremony. I delivered sewing machines to graduates as part of ILAVA Gives Back’s One Girl, One Machine initiative. These young women, now equipped with skills and resources, are poised to build brighter futures for themselves and their families. Thank you!!!
Celebrating the 9th Anniversary of Msichana Initiative
Back in Dar es Salaam, we marked a special milestone with the Msichana Initiative, celebrating their 9th anniversary. ILAVA Gives Back was the first sponsor of their One Girl, One Bike program, and seeing how far this initiative has come was a deeply rewarding experience. It’s a beautiful reminder of how even small seeds can grow into impactful movements.
Building and Creating
Lastly, I had the opportunity to work on a small collection, partnering with artisans and makers who are the heartbeat of ILAVA. The connections forged and the pieces created reflect the essence of our mission: to celebrate ethical fashion while empowering communities.
I am endlessly grateful for your unwavering support and belief in our vision. Together, we are making strides toward a more equitable world. Thank you for following along and championing the work we do at ILAVA and ILAVA Gives Back.
xo,
Rahel
