A Grand Milestone: The Opening of MITC Studio in Chicago:
In August, we celebrated the grand opening of our flagship store, MITC Studio in Chicago, in collaboration with our amazing business partner, Tabrina of Tabby’s Closets. This event was a powerful testament to the strength of partnership, sisterhood, and the incredible impact of women supporting women. Together, we created a space that embodies ethical fashion, creativity, and cultural celebration. I am deeply thankful to everyone who attended, cheered us on, and made this moment unforgettable.

This year, I added two significant accolades to my journey. I successfully completed the Goldman Sachs Black in Business Program, further equipping ILAVA with tools to grow and thrive. Additionally, I was honored as a Tourism Ambassador by DICOTA, recognizing her exceptional work in promoting Tanzania and East African culture. These milestones underscore ILAVA’s commitment to excellence and innovation.

ILAVA philanthropic arm, ILAVA Gives Back, continues to be a cornerstone of our mission to inspire and implement global change. In 2024, we advanced three impactful initiatives:

One Girl, One Bike: We provided bicycles to empower young girls with access to education and opportunities, breaking down barriers in their daily lives.

Comfy Period: We distributed sanitary products to promote menstrual health and dignity for women and girls in underserved communities.

One Girl, One Machine: We equipped young women with sewing machines to foster economic independence and creativity, ensuring a sustainable path forward.
